Newbie's GIS / anyone can help me to thoughtsyze raw data?? :'(

im using erdas. then i want to an thoughtsyze my raw data. Im stuck until classified the data, then i cannot translating it to GIS.. also i cannot counting the built up area and the vegetation. Plzzzzz :'(

Hi mohdfadlie,

Have you tried using Grass software? you can get it by installing Quantum GIS or QGIS software which is available from here: http://www.qgis.org/wiki/Download

FYI, Quatum GIS is getting very popular here in Malaysia because it is OpenSource, meaning free and powerful at the same time.

Map Info works on the concept of tab. You need to create a tab file for this and its easy and quick. The SQL command is excellent in mapinfo.

Hi, im doing GIS since years 1999 but using ArcView and Xcity Software from Tekla Findland to finish my job. But now its change. I have to use MAPINFO.

How to create a layer and we can display it into map just one click then we can plot it out as a report.
