Newbie's GIS / Re: how set up RSO in ER Mapper?
« on: April 09, 2011, 10:36:55 AM »
my aims of study are produce orthophoto and rectified photo, so it stated that two different software are produced their own output respectively as following...
-Large format - rectified photo(ER Mapper) vs orthophoto(Erdas8.6)
-Small format - rectified photo(ER Mapper) vs orthophoto(Erdas8.6)

Actually my data collection for GCPs are secondary data. i have two different set of GCPs and its source which are:
i) Large format aerial photograph - rapid static (RSO)
ii) Small format aerial photograph (UAV images)- real time kinematic (RSO)
i was failed to borrow any related gps instruments so i oni can proceed the both format aerial photograph with their GCPs. Since there are came from different GPS instrument thus the comparison between large format and small format won't carried out.

i tried to checking both set of GCPs mentioned by picked up a same point from them for verify, unfortunately there r not matched and quite far. therefore, comparison between large format or small format will be execute.

so my purpose oni focus on find out the how many accuracy (RMSE) between orthophoto and rectified photo in the small and large format.

assumption only
for example, small format =+-2.323m, large format = +-0.543m.
this means rectified photo oso can achieved good accuracy and can be applied in mapping as well if use er mapper to proceed data.
as long as we know, erdas is more accurate commercial software for mapping. ( i oso using my reference data to compared, both output are approaching to each other. )

small format can be suggested to applied in the mapping project where does not quire high accuracy.

However, i oso wanna asking abt the price of ER Mapper6.4 and Erdas8.6 in the Malaysia?

Objectives
i.   To produce orthophoto and rectified photo (i.e raster) using differential rectification and rectification techniques respectively.
ii.   To produce digital map (i.e vector map) based on the orthophoto and rectified photo.
iii.   To access the accuracy of the orthophoto, rectified photo and digital map.

i was using erdas8.6 to produce orthophoto and ER Mapper6.4 to produce rectified photo.

ADMIN, did u know much about the differential rectification (Erdas) and rectification (ER Mapper)? which software generally used for mapping nowadays? because i was using both of this photogrammtric software to process of data. However, i oso feel blurred in my problem statement of my thesis because i duno what signnificant material and information need to added in order to support the purpose for doing this thesis...

actually i have discussed them in term of price since both mentioned software are commercial software, but i feels it doesn't make any sense.

Admin, i think i have solved the RSO projection (Datum Kertau) without doing the transformation projection from cassini to RSO. If i use the RSO parameter to builds the kertau datum, the result was better rather than transformation.

i din use the map but i am using aerial photograph and uav images.

however, i hope can set up the RSO type in the ER Mapper....

if doing in cassini, the state is johor.
however, i knew the parameter that needed to add into the file.

but my problem is i ned RSO projection type...i think the geodetic datum ned to put KERTAU. but the map projection i reli not sure.

actually i have found the kertau as the geodetic datum , but i duno wat geodetic projection i need 2 put on.

Newbie's GIS / how set up RSO in ER Mapper?

i am final year student from utm. My final year project is regarding of photogrammetry field and  one of the software where i using was ER Mapper for proceed my data. The projection needed must in RSO, so what information should added or typing into the gdt_data, datum.sp and project.dat in c:ERMapper\gdt_data...

i oni can proceed data in cassini projection now since i have those particular info inside gdt_data, datum.sp and project.dat in c:ERMapper\Gdt_data.

Newbie's GIS / Re: looking for rectification open source software...
« on: January 01, 2011, 07:00:33 AM »
i haven't find this website, but at least i can acquire some related information from this. thanks:-)
Actually my thesis is about photogrammetry field. So i wil using aerial photograph and UAV images to apply into the software. Generally the remote sensing software works more on ortho-rectification method by using the satellite images as the data. so i stil quite worried whether can find this software...

Newbie's GIS / looking for rectification open source software...
« on: January 01, 2011, 06:25:21 AM »
i was spend lots of times to searching this particular software for long time.  Any good any software can suggest for me?
i am looking for the gis open source software where can rectify image in the mapping same as the ER Mapper (rectification).

Due to my thesis requirement, i need to find the free 1 (open source software) to compare with the commercial software. Thus to prove this particular open source software able to acquire similar output if compare with ER Mapper.

**actually i was found the ElshayalSmart gis open source software, but the problem is only two rectify points can be determine only.

so i am blur and feel helpless....
