ArcView 3.x Core / Polyline to polygon
« on: April 18, 2008, 04:59:47 AM »
Hi Rizal,

ArcView cannot do that. You need ArcEditor or ArcInfo or FME to do that for you. ArcView 3.x  (*,)   cannot do that!

Sorry.

ArcGIS 8.x / 9.x 3D Analyst Extension / CAD to ArcScene
« on: April 14, 2008, 08:40:09 PM »
Hi Rizal,

Nevermind, the extension is available with your 9.x installer. Forget about that extension, just go to www.safe.com/downloads and download the latest FME license - Do not go for the beta version please.

Also please provide me by p.m you university details.

Thanks.

ArcGIS 8.x / 9.x 3D Analyst Extension / CAD to ArcScene

Hi Rizal,

To get back the annotations from CAD to shapefile, you need to use "Feature manipulation Engine" or ArGIS Interoperability extension (which is by the way the same).

Either software would help you retrieve the annotation layer and convert it shapefile attributes.

Please let me know if you need more guidance.

Cheers.

Just wondering, could you please clarify what you do want to achieve with this work to give us a better view on your project.

Cheers.

Hi Rizal,

Please do not put copies of the same thread everywhere. I will keep the one in the 3D thoughtsyst since that is what the question is about.

I will delete this thread later.

Thanks.

Newbie's GIS / how to convert latitude n longitude coordinate to rso??
« on: March 16, 2008, 07:11:18 AM »
Hi,

No, it is a one year renewable license no charge for universities. Get the 14 days license first and see what you can see before you decide.

Thanks.

OK, in this case, if you are working only on converting from RSO to WGS84 and the other way around, you can download FME from safe software:

www.safe.com . Once you download, please p.m me your 10 digits registration code and I will give you a 14 days license. If for some reasons, you find it useful, then I can try to get you a 1 year license for your faculty.

Please keep me posted.

« on: March 16, 2008, 05:26:17 AM »
Hi again,

I used to make it available on this website years ago until the owner of the script asked me to put a link to his website instead.

The ArcView 3.x extension is available here: http://www.mygis.com.my/mygis/malaysia_projection.zip .

Sorry, I forgot about this.

Thanks.

Programming with MapObjects / zoom tools with MapObjects - Need help.
« on: March 15, 2008, 04:58:29 PM »
Hi,

There are a couple of samples from www.esri.com/arcscripts, have you taken a look at them?

If I can remember properly, there are a couple of good samples in the book provided with the software. Do you have access to that book?

Thanks.
