can GIS convert shp file to grid file? How?

oh! i forgot to tell the coordinate system.

im using arcgis coordinate system (kertau rso) for both. take the coordinate from gis and use at sgems. when i tried using splus, the semivariogram also shows the same as sgems.

everything is the same.

the data. lagsize. num of lags. the distance should be the same.

in my understanding (from books i read), if we define the num of lags = 20. there will be 20 semivariogram values in the semivariogram plot.

but in arcGIS there are so many semivariogram values. can you explain this? i read so many books but still i cant figure what exactly arcGIS shows.

can someone clarify this?

semivariogram modelling-

output from ArcGIS

output using sgems

my only problem using GIS's GA is this modelling part.

yes i'm a student.

thats why i have those stupid question. HAHAHAHA
in fact im a mathematics student who is struggling to do geostatistical thoughtsysis with arcGIS. I'm using PM10 data throughout Peninsular Malaysia. but i have trouble understanding arcGIS geostatistical thoughtsyst tools.

The semivariogram modelling in arcGIS shows so many semivariogram values which contradict with my understanding on semivariogram modelling. what exactly the graph shows? values for all directions?

and i compared with statistic software (SPLUS).

What is the different between arcGIS and arcViEW (which can view SPLUS output)? which one is better for spatial thoughtsysis / geostatistical thoughtsysis?

and im i asking at the correct place?  ;D

that question really stupid la~ hahaha  ;D
all u need is a correct term~ hahaha
haiya~ malu saja~  ::)

got that graph one already~ use the symbol thing to plot~

btw, im using the California data as a reference.

does arcgis have empirical semivariogram/variogram?
why so many semivariogram values compared to SPLUS software output?
what kind of graph in semivariogram modelling step?
so confusing~  ???

help~~~~ *scream*

does arcgis have empirical semivariogram?
im stuck at semivariogram modelling. why so many semivariogram values compared to SPLUS software.

my original data in excel~ so i export to shapefile for further mapping.

another stupid question from me~
how to map/plot the ozone concentration to different levels (darker color indicate larger value) ???
Do i have to make a new layer/data?
i've tried the scatter plot, but no color or levels there.
if im using Splus, im able to show the different levels but i have to present the map using arcgis.

the sample map i'm looking for.

just to confirm. really need confirmation.
what i did :-
1. add XY data (deg) using WSG1984
2. export to shapefile
3. use the Data Management Tools >> Projection & Transformation >> Feature >> Project
4. input wsg1984, output kertau(m)
and walla~ new shapefile with new coordinate in meter

is this correct? i dont have arcview.

hahahaha i know what chain means.

so chain is the old one! okie dokie~

i just to make sure what i do is correct~~ *need to avoid mistakes

what is th different between kertau(ch) n kertau(m)?

Yay me again~

i have question regarding RSO~
i have latitude n longitude in decimal degree.
i wanna do some spatial interpolation.
i have map for rso n deg(shapefile). i think.
b4 this i used wsg1984 (deg map) for mapping and ect.
but then i found out about rso~  :-[
how to use/convert to rso?  ???
tq for ur help~~

Please check here !!!
