Map Help
« on: January 23, 2010, 07:22:10 PM »
Hye,

I really need help from the expert.

My background is Mathematics. But I need to do mapping to complete my project and I have zero knowledge of GIS.

I'm using ArcGIS 9.3. I've tried the tutorial (geostatistics one) but most of them are US' map and everything are provided; maps, points and ect.

Where can I get map of Malaysia? including Borneo. and how can I create/key in my data into GIS?  ???

Sara

I need Peninsular Malaysia Map. No need Borneo. Just check with my lecturer. What kind I'm not sure. I guess the outline of Malaysia.

I have meteorological data (spatial data). What I wanna do is, plot/map this meteorological station on the map. Then do some thoughtsysis.

Hi,

Try this freeware:

ftp://download1.geocomm.com/sd2/IMPORT711.ZIP

I am not sure why it keep on putting up the http:// in front of the ftp. please delete that

(Fixed it, I had to use the FTP tag rather than URL  ;D)

Hope this helps.

Hi there,

I am not sure if you have noticed that if you click on the show help button -and - whenever you click on any text box, the help on the write panel would change according to the dialog box element you click on.

As for where are the results, if not mistaken, it would be added as new field in your layer/feature class.

Thanks.
