RSO Timbalai, just to confirm

(1/2) > >>

lanvin:
Salam semua,

helo, i baru baru ni tolong buat conversion bagi my junior, from a WGS84 shapefile to RSO timbalai. so simple procedure cam biasa, Projection>national grid>malaysia>rsotimbalai 1948 meter.

Sekian, Selamat buka puasa.

BernGPS:
BRSO for Sarawak uses false origin of 2 million E and 5 million N untuk mengelak nilai -ve.

lanvin:
trima kasih untuk reply. Tapi kalau i ada ArcGIS, cam mana i nak dapatkan nilai berkenaan?

Trimakasih krn menolong.

MyGIS:
Hi Lanvin,

First you must go to the data frame properties:

I hope this would help.

Lyes.

lanvin:
thank you mod for helping. Means just type in 2,000,000 in east and 5,000,000 in north at the colume of false easting and northing?

Does it mean the sarawak system is offseting the original coor to +2milE and +5milN? if i have  apoint coordinate said X=1, Y=1 then the result will be E=2,000,001 and N= 5,000,001?

If so, does we still name this offset as BRSO? or is there a new name for it? since the state gis user said it's BRSO, but BRSO (as of arcgis) is not refering to the same coordinate. Can anyone help me? thanks.
