Hi firdhaus,

Unless you are using BlueTooth which has about 10m range or wi-fi which could have a 30 m range, you cannot update your data via wireless unless if you are using GPRS/Edge/3G and upload the shapefiles via email or ftp as kind_aichico  suggested.

Cheers.

Hi,

My personal opinion is to stick to a normal PDA for mapping, don't go for those all-in-one kind of stuff. For PDA's I "personally" like HP, Dell (Axim PDA no longer available I think) and Palm (which is not suitable for ArcPAd).

Buying an HP iPaq 2xx series would do the trick and it should be below RM1,500.00 . However, you would need a BlueTooth GPS for that.

If you decide not to buy that model, than make sure to test the unit you want to buy because if the brightness is too low, the PDA would serve as a mirror under the sun.

Don't forget to buy an SD card (2 Gb) for your data  ;D

p.s.: Contact Crocco in this forum, he is using such setting PDA + BT GPS + ArcPad .

Thanks.
