I received several responses to my question (original Q is below) about creating grids over a site. However none of them performed as I had hoped in that I was unable to specify the start point or snap point for the grid. Sample http://www.quantdec.com/sample/index.htm sounded like it might work but it is a commercial extension and there was no demo version available to test it out. The other suggestions were Edit Tools, Quadrant Analysis, grdmaker, and grdmake2, and I had previously been trying to use coorgrid. All of which are available on the ESRI ArcScripts page. Thanks everyone for your help, unfortunately it looks like I will be creating the grids in CAD and importing them to AV. Original Question: I am looking for a script that will allow me to create a grid over a specified study boundary. Something very much like the coorgrid extension except that I need to be able to specify the exact coordinate of the start point for the grid. What I am trying to do is create a density map of artifacts for our archaeologist. They will delineate a study boundary and array a grid in the field based on the first found artifact. The start point for the grid and the boundary will be GPS'd so I will have know coordinates. However if I cannot array my grid based on the same starting point then the density map is no good. Any other ArcView using Archaeologists out there ever done this?
