Here is my original question:

The simple answer is to go the Explorer Tools/Folder Options/View and
clicks "show hidden file.s"  I have now deleted these files from the
temp directory and have also made a commitment to always making sure my
working directory is c:\temp.

You can also go into dos (I didn't do this, because the above solution
worked for me).
