Hi Listers, I didn't get much response in regards to my grid question which was as follows: Please excuse my ignorance when I say that I am having trouble trying to figure out how to set a grid cells value in avenue. I can see that there are commands to get a cells value, but what if you want to change it? I am looking for something that works in much the same way as setvalue on an ftab or vtab. Bill Huber got back to me, with the following method which seems to work (thanks Bill): There are two DLLs on ArcScripts to do the job. (ArcScripts appears to be down right now, so I can't get you specific references.) There's another extension on ArcScripts designed specifically to do what you want, but it's not suitable for large amounts of editing, because it uses Spatial Analyst requests, which are slow and cumbersome. Basically, the procedure is to create a grid having values only at the cells you want to modify and then to paste that grid over the original using the Con request. The DLLs make the changes directly into a RAM-buffered version of the grid dataset and then write that buffer back to disk when you request it. regards, Phil Phil Bright, BSc(GIS) GIS Research Assistant Regional Integrated Health Information System (RIHIS) Project for the Combined Universities Centre for Rural Health (CUCRH) Department of Spatial Sciences, Curtin University of Technology http://www.cage.curtin.edu.au/gis/ruralhealth/index.htm GPO Box U1987 Perth 6845 Western Australia Phone: (08) 9266 7248 Fax: (08) 9266 2703 Mobile: 0402125612 Email: brightp@vesta.curtin.edu.au <><
