Ah, the strange ways of Windows/ArcView... After noticing that the segmentation violation always occurred immediately after the message "Getting Printer Information...", I changed the print drivers on the new computer from the latest drivers (downloaded from the HP website) to the Windows print drivers. Voil=E0 - problem solved. Thanks to all who responded, some with some fairly complex solutions... fortunately, a simple solution was all it took. eric ----------------------------------------------- Original Question: Hello, all... I looked through the archives and couldn't find anything on this problem... perhaps one of the great minds out there can shed some light where I am coming up blank. I recently got a new Win2000 dual Pentium workstation with 2 hard drives in RAID 1 configuration. Because of the RAID configuration, I have in essence only one hard drive, C. On the old workstation, all of my GIS data and projects were on the D: drive. So, I transferred all of my folders to the new workstation, putting them in a folder called C:\GIS\, leaving the rest of the file trees as they were (I.e., D:\projects\highways.apr became C:\GIS\projects\highways.apr). I opened a project in a text editor and used "Find and Replace..." to replace all of the D:/ values with C:/GIS/, but upon opening the project I get the dreaded and equivocal Segmentation Violation. Thinking that perhaps I had messed up the files, I opened a project that hadn't been modified in notepad and went through the "Where is..." routine. Still get a Segmentation Violation, unable to open project. Any Ideas? Has anyone else encountered this? Thanks in advance Eric
