Thanks to Chris DiDio and Anthony Johnson for their responses to this issue. My original question is below. The problem with the grids not being recognized was the presence of a space in the file structure (i.e. \etf\lakes\pine lake). Unfortunately I didn't represent the space in my original message but Chris mentioned the possiblity anyway and it was the problem. Thanks Chris. Kevin Kevin Lawton College of Natural Resources IT Support CNR Advanced Computer Lab Coordinator (715)346-3795 klawton@uwsp.edu Hello All, I have a quirky situation with grids you may be able to help me resolve. I have a file structure on a shared network drive that looks like the following: \etf\lakes\pinelake In any given project file with Spatial Analyst, I am able to create and save grids to the "pinelake" folder using "convert to grid" and other functions. I am then able to use the grids, etc. within that ArcView session. If I save the project file and re-open it, it no longer recognizes the grids and says it can't find them. If I try to add them to the project again (using the grid file type) it will show the grid folder, but won't recognize it as a valid grid to choose in the left hand window. However, if I go back in the file structure and copy these same grids from the "pinelake" folder into the "etf" or "lakes" folders, ArcView will again recognize them. No matter what subfolder under "lakes" I put the grids in it won't recognize them as valid grid files (even though they are). Permissions on all these folders should be set the same, so I am at a loss as to what the problem may be. Thanks for any assistance.
