Original message: I am pretty sure some of the GIS gurus out there can tackle this little one. I have point data projected into a state plane coordinate system and need the lat-long (unprojected data). Are there any straightforward ways to get the data out of GIS or do I go to the survey book? Thanks for all of the responses. I should of been a little more specific in my questioning. I was hoping for a command to give the lat-long of a large set of data points in a state plane coordinate system without having to project (unproject) them to lat-long. I guess I should expect things not to be a click of the button. * The majority of the responses mentioned projecting the data to lat-long and getting the x-y coordinates while in decimal degrees. * There are some scripts available on the ESRI website to create a tool that yields the lat-long of projected data points within the view. Located at http://gis.esri.com/arcscripts/details.cfm?CFGRIDKEY=355767542. * Last and not least there is a program available from the Army at http://crunch.tec.army.mil/software/corpscon/corpscon.html that can convert data sets with various projections and vertical datum to other projections and datum.
