Many thanks to the responders to my problem with or new 1055CM plotter. Suggestions for a fix included: Print > Properties > Advanced > Process Document 'In Computer' ? This sometimes makes a difference... The PS3_RTL driver doesn't have this option. I was informed that HP has just recently posted a new driver (October 2001). I'll evaluate this one. Use ArcPress - I don't have ArcPress at the moment, but this is perhaps an option. My question is: We already use Adobe Acrobat to produce printable files. Will ArcPress provide enhancements beyond what I can get from Acrobat? I have to justify another $300. Others suggested that the problems seemed to arise from running out of memory in the printer. Since Arcview tends to produce very large print files, perhaps this is the problem. One suggested turning the printer & computer off then powering up. I did & still no joy. ------------------------------------------------- Many thanks to: Matt Carlson Keith Joiner Will Stafford Tom Kreykes Matt Liapis -----Original Message----- I'm experience a strange, ArcView specific problem with our 6 month old HP 1055CM plotter. Symptoms: I print to the plotter using the HP DesignJet 1055Cm PS3_RTL driver. Initially, this driver worked great with no problems. Recently, however, the print jobs will often result in an error message on the printer (not on the computer) and then a message stating there was a problem processing the data, flushing print job. Press . The printer then starts to spew out paper, bringing about frantic attempts to stop/cancel the job. The sequence I've found successful is to press the then the key to cancel the job. Arcview is the only software causing this problem. I can produce an Adobe Acrobat file of the layout & print with no problem. I was having this problem consistently, but recently it went away. A coworker has begun having this problem with particular projects. I am investigating whether a particular theme or layer might be causing this problem. Has anyone had similar problems with this printer, and have you been able to solve it?
