Hello: A bit more of a sum. Here's something from Dan: Gary, I am able to pan any direction using the mouse with ALT-C. It only works when editing a shape file, coverage, etc. It doesn't work when just drawing graphics. I didn't have to create these hot-keys in ArcMap. From what an ESRI rep told me last week. one of their programmers put these hot keys in ArcMap without telling anyone, and they are just finding out about them now. I have now created my own hotkeys, but I can only create a pan key by having a separate one for each direction. The tools/customize/keyboard option doesn't seem to support a click&pan hot key like the one in ArcInfo and AV3x. I'm not editing a shapefile, so I'm out of luck with Dan's tool.
